We just returned from a soul-filled weekend in Austin—and what a time we had in the Texas heat (90 degrees is no joke, y’all).
Surrounded by our incredible community, we basked in the sunshine and talked beauty—and everyone’s skin was aglow. Speaking of which, one huge highlight: We debuted our Vanity Kiosk, a mobile vanity pod, which popped up right next to our shiny new Café Saie Airstream. (Scroll down for photos!)
There’s something about Austin that feels alive—everywhere you turn, there’s creative energy in the live music, in the colorful street art, and, of course, the people we met. Between matcha-fueled mornings and two-stepping nights, here’s what we were up to in this vibrant city…
RUN CLUB
We kicked off the weekend with a bright and early 5K around Lady Bird Lake, where 40 members of our community joined us. It really set the tone for the weekend—full of energy, good vibes, and lots of smiles. Honestly, there’s no better way to start the day than moving your body.
CAFÉ SAIE
We set up shop downtown, serving Rocky’s x Saie matcha lattes for two days and giving away samples of our favorite makeup essentials. Working the matcha bar was a joy—we loved chatting with so many new friends. The only downside? Trying not to drink every latte we made.
The lattes were customizable with a choice of whole milk, Koatji Oat Milk, or Fronks, a local nut milk that has quickly become one of our favorites. Made from dates with a hint of cinnamon, it’s the kind of milk that makes your matcha feel extra—but it’s perfect with just a splash, no other syrups or sweeteners needed.
We were so happy to have Hannah Chody, co-founder of Fronks, swing by for a sip. If you’re in Austin (or Dallas or San Antonio), keep an eye out for their blue label. It’s a local gem for a reason.
MORE MATCHA, ALWAYS
Naturally, we had to do our own unofficial matcha tour of Austin. Our favorite: The Meteor. Their house-made vanilla date syrup is pure heaven. Honorable mention: a great visit at Alfred’s.
VANITY FILES
Our Vanity Kiosk is basically a modern-day Polly Pocket, unfolding into a glow studio. And we are totally and completely biased, but it felt like stepping into a Saie daydream: drawers full of our essentials, lilac seating, and a mirror—lit by the sunshine—for makeup touch-ups.
AROUND TOWN
It wouldn’t be a real Austin trip without denim and cowboy boots, right? We made a few key stops. First up: Imogene + Willie. Patrick grabbed a new pair of canvas work pants (perfect for any boot). The best part? They tailored them on the spot with a one-day turnaround. If you need denim that’s as cool as it is comfy, this is the place.
From there, we headed to South Congress for boots. Within one block, we hit Allen's Boots, Tecovas, and Lucchese—each a little different, all Texas to the core.
ON THE MENU
Let’s just say, we ate really well. Some standouts:
Dinner at Aba. We started the trip here. The super light and refreshing food made this the perfect escape from the heat. Standouts were the whipped feta, falafel, and grilled chicken skewers.
Brunch at Paperboy. We ordered just about everything on the menu: the fluffiest brown butter pancakes with just the right amount of sweetness, cheddar hash browns that were super crispy and cheesy, maple sausage patties, and a Tasso ham and Gruyère empanada that was one of the best bites we had all week.
Tex-Mex at Matt’s El Rancho. No trip is complete without queso, and Matt’s is the place. We also devoured steak fajitas, enchiladas, chicken flautas, and their deliciously smooth margaritas. All hits.
ON THE DANCE FLOOR
To wrap up our weekend, we found ourselves at The White Horse—a true honky-tonk experience. The locals were so good at two-stepping it was almost intimidating. Almost. A little liquid courage, and we were out there, laughing and dancing the night away.
A few more favorite spots to grab a drink:
We left Austin with full hearts—and very full stomachs. Huge thanks to everyone who came out, said hello, and sipped matcha with us from the Airstream. We are already dreaming up our next stop for Café Saie.
Any suggestions? Tell us in the comments.
Until next time,
Xoxo
