Ok, so we’re officially back from Camp Saie and into the steam room that is New York City summer (yay). To cope, we’re pretending we’re still on one of the quaint Catskills walks to one of our quaint little Catskills finds…
Here were our fave spots:
The spot we were all loving. And because a comfort meal at a diner is a must when you’re upstate. A short walk down the hill from Camptown (where we stayed and highly recommend), you can get a delicious chicken sandwich or tuna melt while overlooking a lake. They’re also known for their specialty soda foundation (Erin loved the Iced Coffee Fizz (think: refreshing cold brew with a little bit of seltzer topped with their homemade whipped cream)). We also ordered every appetizer on the menu and the winners were the artichoke dip and the sausage pretzel.
(Honorable mention: this pimento cheese and pickle dish. Yum!)
We are matcha fiends at Saie and because Camptown didn’t have any we took a 15-minute walk down the main road into the town of Leeds to go to Heartland Coffee. A cute coffee shop that is also a greeting card store. We warned you this would be quaint! They have speciality drinks like Chai Lattes and Maple Cold Brews, but their Iced Matcha Teas were so fresh and very green! You can also find two walls filled to the brim with locally made greeting cards for every holiday and occasion you can think of.
In between our company offsite and our community brand trip, the team drove about 15 minutes into Hudson, NY to check out the town. Three different people from the team mentioned that we had to try the Dan Dan Noodles from Backbar at some point during the trip. So we went straight there and ended up ordering one of everything on the menu. All the dishes are perfect for family-style sharing. The Dan Dan Noodles were, in fact, as good as they said! Another crowd fave was the Crab and Cheese Rangoon!
…and, of course, we couldn’t end an upstate day without a scoop of ice cream! We stopped by 225 Scoops and each got a cone. Always get a cone! It’s so much better for the environment and extra yummy :) Not to mention that this ice cream shop had different flavored cones like birthday cake and a purple one (which felt so fitting for us to get ;] )
Promenade Hill Park
After dinner, we all wanted to walk and eat our ice cream so we strolled down to Promenade Hill Park for the most amazing view of the Hudson River. We watched the sunset and got to wind down and connect ♡
Channeling this quaint energy and full-bellied calm for the rest of the summer.
xoxo,
Team Saie
