In celebration of The Saie Climate Initiative, we invited VIPs from across the climate, beauty, and fashion industries to dinner in Soho during NYC Climate Week to discuss how we’re coming together to fight for our planet.

The dinner took place in TIWA Gallery, which celebrates the blurred lines between art and design.

The space also featured a new exhibition of works by California-based wood sculptor Vince Skelly titled Play Sculptures. The show consisted of twelve large pieces that pay homage to playful (and child-friendly) forms found in mid-century playgrounds.

The guests varied from the co-founder & CEO of rePurpose Global Svanika Balasubramanian (you may remember her from this post) to Wawa Gatheru, climate activist and founder of Black Girl Environmentalist, and Babba Rivera, founder & CEO of Ceremonia.

As everyone took their seats, Laney introduced The Saie Climate Initiative, Svanika, and the climate work rePurpose Global is doing across the planet.

Curated by chef Woldy Reyes of Woldy Kusina, the innovative low-carbon-footprint menu consisted of seasonal and mostly vegan ingredients. Inspired by Saie’s signature lilac, the menu showcased dishes such as purple tomatoes, Napa cabbage, fairytale eggplant, and delicate meringue fig cream with ube ice cream for dessert.

The menus were printed on handmade seed paper embedded with wildflower seeds for attendees to take home and plant in their own gardens!

Attendees each got a sneak peak of our yet-to-be-released Saie Vintage collection… Is that a vintage Patagonia fleece we see?
